New website launched!

Welcome to the new Save a Cup website.

The new site has been created to introduce new clients into the Save a Cup scheme as well as to sell recycled products on line in a timely manner.

The new and improved Save a Cup website is:

The point of the website is to be an interactive tool which will help Save a Cup as well as its partners and makes it easier to get feedback from its customers.

2009 - A Year of Change

We have now developed a new website which will be ready for launch
in January 2010. This is the first phase in improving our client offering
and enhancing our customer experience. It will enable customers to
order on line and there will be a tracking mechanism for deliveries.
We will also have more control on stock levels to ensure we can meet all our clients purchasing requirements.

Feedback from the trade has enabled us to make our product offering easier to understand and our recycled products easier to purchase at the touch of a button.

As part of phase 2 we have now strengthened our management team and put a full-time
Customer Service Manager in place whose role is vital in ensuring we understand what our customers want and make sure that Save a Cup exceeds all future expectations.

2010 is an exciting time for Save a Cup with the new website which will increase our profile, and several contracts which we are working on in partnership with other suppliers. This will help Save a Cup be in a
position to ‘buy its own lunch’ by 2011.

Customer Service Manager - Aileen Grant

Aileen Grant joined the Save a Cup management team in October 2009 as
a dedicated Customer Service Manager.

She brings over 15 years’ customer service experience to Save a Cup which
will ensure that the company continues to gain a better understanding of all
its clients needs.

Aileen will be involved in several of the new initiatives in 2010, she believes
in winning customers’ loyalty and offering an excellent customer experience.
The customer service strategy will:

always put Save a Cup in its customers’ shoes
understand what they want
be resourceful and knowledgeable
provide correct and accurate information when asked
build a rapport with the customers
be polite
listen to what customers want

Introduction of an 'Annual Adminstration Charge'

Dear Clients

From 1st January 2007 Save a Cup Recycling Company Limited will be introducing an 'Annual Administration Charge' of £50.00. This will cover the cost of issuing all the 'Legal Documentation' referring to waste removed from your site by either our own vehicles or Third Parties who are sub-contracted to us.

New Clients
When joining the scheme you will be asked for a purchase order number to enable our Accounts Department to raise an invoice.

Existing Clients
To enable us to invoice you for the 'Annual Administration Charge' our Accounts Department will shortly be contacting you requesting a purchase order number

Letter to Participants November 2007

Since September 2005, Save a Cup have, on a regular basis, communicated with our clients explaining the need for them to starting using our new drawstring sacks.

In November of this year I wrote to ALL the sites who according to our records had not purchased our new sacks informing them that as of 1st January 2007 Save a Cup will no longer collect waste cups presented in any other sack than our drawstring sacks, (see letters below).

During December our collector's will be distributing leaflets informing sites who have STILL not purchased our sacks that collections will cease.

Investors in People

Save a Cup Recycling Company announced in June 2004, that it had enrolled with Business Link Hertfordshire and was applying for 'Investors in People' status. During December 2004 the company was 'Assessed against the Standard' and was successful in meeting its requirements.

At the official award ceremony organised by Business Link Hertfordshire on Wednesday 23rd February 2005. Save a Cup joined another 65 companies at Sopwell House in St. Albans to celebrate our achievement. Of the companies who attended the ceremony, 45 were awarded the 'Standard' for the first time.

The evening's activities began with a drinks reception and official photographs of the award winners being presented with the award by the guest speaker Mr Ian Woodall who is a renowned explorer. The photographs and reception were followed by a celebration dinner and an after dinner speech.

"In 1999 Ian stepped onto the summit of Mount Everest and into history, as one of only a handful of mountaineers to have climbed Everest from both its South and North sides. During his first ascent Ian's team were trapped in the worst storm in Everest history. They were the closest of any team to those stranded and dying on the mountain. After the storm all but one of the other teams went home, but Ian's team chose to try again, finally reaching the summit as the only team left on the mountain".

"Two years later Ian stopped only 200 metres from the summit to help a dying American climber. The woman's first words were "Don't leave me". Yet ultimately Ian had to leave her to secure the safety of his own team. Now, in a unique and dramatic keynote address, Ian shows how the lessons learnt on the mountain can be used to enhance Inspiration, Motivation & Practical Leadership skills".

His speech was not only an Inspiration to all the audience but the content though moving and full of personal hardship was also entertaining.

Now the hard work begins in keeping the momentum going and retaining the 'Standard' and meeting its new requirements.
